| I received two estimates from referrals that each amounted to $500 per day per painter, labor cost only. Is this the going rate on LI? Both estimates quoted the job taking 5 man-days. The job involves mostly repaint of walls and ceilings and ane room of new sheetrock which is already spackled. I'm in Kings Park. Thanks, |

| That is way too much. $500 a day per painter is a huge rip off. And this is just for labor?!?!?! Get quotes for the entire project, not per day. I would tell both of these estimators to kicking rocks. Keep asking around and become more than estimates. Don't waste your time with this per 24-hour interval nonsense. Get a complete estimate. Practiced luck. |

| Kitchen is the new sheetrock room, laundry room, 1/2 bathroom, 1st and 2nd flooring hallway, stair risers, 12 new wood doors. Both estimates were for the entire chore. I was 5 days for one painter and the other was 2-3 painters for 2-iii days. |

I don't know how big your home is, just I've got to say it sounds similar a sizeable project. Based on piece of work I've had done recently, 500/day wouldn't exist surprising around here. Stair risers and woods doors are very labor intensive. $500 a day for painting... that's crazy... merely that'southward what it is. Lovely living in a union state (not that these guys are in the painters' spousal relationship, but unions are driving up costs for everything we practice on LI). |

This included our brand-spanking new kitchen (2 days for that alone with two of his guys - take to say it came out stellar), they repaired a plaster corner molding and a plaster wall that had all-encompassing water damage - 1 man took this on which took him i.5 days just for that detailed labor intensive repair; dining room, living room, 3 bedrooms, 3 hallways, staircase walls and risers, all ceilings, moldings, book cases, recessed radiators all through the house, and doors. Pretty much everything - fifty-fifty the closet interiors. They are very careful with painting moldings, and they fix whatever and all irregularities in/on the walls. Most painters just paint over those and permit them get. It took about 10 days to consummate the job. They took their fourth dimension, did it right - no damage, no spills, etc. It ran us $10,000 which included the cost of the pigment. They besides stained the door saddles. Would I hire them over again? Absolutely. Would we paint our house interior ourselves? If I had waited for my husband to bother to paint the interior I'd nevertheless exist waiting. BUT we did pigment our garage door ourselves, our shed, and I painted our 3 sets of wrought iron railings outside using rust inhibitor first and then a glossy jet black over information technology. The railings took me most a total of around 6 hours - I tackled them an hour or and so at a time.
